Becky Mandelbaum is the author of the novel Homewrecker, forthcoming from Spiegel & Grau in 2027, as well as the novel The Bright Side Sanctuary for Animals, an Indie Next Pick, and the story collection Bad Kansas, which received the Flannery O’Connor Award, the High Plains Book Award for First Book, and was a Kansas Notable Book. Her writing has appeared in “The Pushcart Book of Twenty-First Century Poetry and Prose” as well as The New Yorker Daily Shouts, One Story, The Sun, Alaska Quarterly Review, Missouri Review, and elsewhere. She has received support from Hedgebrook, Writing by Writers, The Helene Wurlitzer Foundation, Lighthouse Works, and the Washington Arts Commission. Her first film project, “Something Real,” premiered at Tribeca 2025. Originally from Kansas, she now lives in Bellingham, Washington.
